CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (CSR)

Hillock Insurance, an independent agency serving Wallowa County, OR, is looking for a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our dedicated team. We specialize in health - private insurance and medicare, life, property, and casualty insurance, and pride ourselves on guiding clients with the strength and support inspired by our local community and the surrounding mountains.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a seasoned health insurance agent focused on Medicare. You will also be the first point of contact for our clients, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to personalized service and community values.

This is a full-time, in-person position. The hourly rate will range from $16-22. Please read the responsibilities and qualifications before applying.

Key Responsibilities

Assist our lead Medicare health insurance agent. This will entail
- Helping coordinate meetings with clients.
- Documenting and filing important paperwork and adhering to HIPAA requirements.
- Corresponding with insurance carriers via phone and email as needed.
- Helping process policy changes and applications.
- Advocating for clients’ needs while transparently educating clients on realistic expectations.
Greet office visitors with warmth, positivity, and professionalism.
Answer phone calls promptly, accurately document client requests, and escalate concerns when necessary.
Troubleshoot common client issues related to insurance products and services.
As time allows, assist agents with quoting and adjusting property and casualty policies.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in health and/or property and casualty insurance.
Active health + life insurance license preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong customer-service orientation with a focus on empathy and active listening.
Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Slight preference to those who have experience working with older generations or can otherwise connect with Medicare clients.
